Job summary

ExperCARE is seeking a compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our urgent care and primary care teams in Tuscaloosa, AL. You will provide clinical support, take vital signs, assist procedures, and deliver patient-centered care in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate holds an active LPN license in Alabama, CPR/BLS certification, and experience in urgent or primary care settings. Flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays is required.

Qualifications

• Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in the state of practice.
• Current CPR/BLS certification.
• Previous experience in urgent care, family practice, emergency medicine, or primary care preferred.
• Experience with phlebotomy, injections, EKGs, and point-of-care testing preferred.
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to multitask and remain organized in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficient with electronic medical records (EMR).
• Commitment to providing compassionate, patient-centered care.

Responsibilities

• Room patients and obtain accurate vital signs, medical histories, and chief complaints.
• Assist providers with examinations, procedures, and treatments.
• Administer medications, injections, immunizations, and treatments as ordered.
• Perform specimen collection, phlebotomy, EKGs, point-of-care testing, and other clinical procedures within scope of practice.
• Assist with wound care, splinting, suture removal, and other minor procedures.
• Prepare exam rooms and maintain a clean, organized clinical environment.
• Document patient information accurately in the EMR.
• Educate patients on medications, treatment plans, discharge instructions, and follow-up care.
• Monitor patient flow to promote efficient clinic operations.
• Ensure compliance with infection control, OSHA, HIPAA, and safety standards.
