Job summary

ExperCARE in Tuscaloosa, AL is seeking a compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our urgent care and primary care teams. You will provide frontline clinical support, take vitals, assist with exams, administer medications, and educate patients to ensure a high-quality, patient-centered experience.

The ideal candidate holds a current LPN license in the state, CPR/BLS certification, and prior experience in urgent care or primary care.

Qualifications

• Current LPN license in the state of practice.
• Current CPR/BLS certification.
• Experience in urgent care, family practice, emergency medicine, or primary care preferred.
• Experience with phlebotomy, injections, EKGs, and point-of-care testing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Room patients and obtain vital signs, medical histories, and chief complaints.
• Assist providers with examinations, procedures, and treatments.
• Administer medications, injections, immunizations, and treatments as ordered.
• Perform specimen collection, phlebotomy, EKGs, point-of-care testing, and other clinical procedures within scope of practice.
• Assist with wound care, splinting, suture removal, and other minor procedures.
• Document patient information accurately in the EMR.
• Educate patients on medications, treatment plans, discharge instructions, and follow-up care.
• Monitor patient flow to promote efficient clinic operations.
• Ensure compliance with infection control, OSHA, HIPAA, and safety standards.
• Maintain medical supplies and assist with inventory management.
• Provide excellent customer service to patients, families, and team members.
• Collaborate with providers and clinical staff to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain medical supplies and assist with inventory management
• Support both urgent care and primary care workflows based on daily clinic needs

Qualifications

• Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in the state of practice
• Current CPR/BLS certification
• Previous experience in urgent care, family practice, emergency medicine, or primary care preferred
• Experience with phlebotomy, injections, EKGs, and point-of-care testing preferred
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to multitask and remain organized in a fast-paced environment
• Proficient with electronic medical records (EMR)
