Job summary

Indiana University Health in Bloomington is seeking a licensed practical nurse (LPN) to support patient care in a fast-paced clinic. You will perform triage, basic POC testing, phlebotomy, injections, and medication administration while ensuring quality care and smooth clinic operations.

The role requires graduation from an accredited LPN program, an active Indiana LPN license (or NLC), and BLS certification. Orientation is provided; 1–2 years of experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a nationally accredited licensed practical nursing program.
• Active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in Indiana or NLC LPN license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Successful completion of orientation.
• 1–2 years of relevant experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic patient triage and point-of-care (POC) testing.
• Complete phlebotomy, injections, and medication administration.
• Conduct lab result callbacks and provide patient follow-up communication.

• Clinic hours: Monday-Friday 8:00 AM-8:00 PM; Saturday & Sunday 8:00 AM-6:00 PM
• Schedule: 3 twelve-hour shifts per week with an every-third-weekend rotation
• Fast-paced environment requiring strong multitasking and teamwork skills

Knows and uses the nursing process in planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care to individual patients. Collaborates with other members of the healthcare team. Evaluates response to interventions and patient status toward goal achievement. Accepts delegated nursing measures for which he or she knows he or she is prepared, qualified and licensed to perform.

• Requires graduation from a nationally accredited licensed practical nursing program.
• Requires an active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) LPN license.
• Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA. Other advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
• Successful completion of orientation required.
• 1-2 years of relevant experience preferred.
