Job summary

Kingman Regional Medical Center in Kingman, AZ, is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join the Thoracic Surgery team. Full-time, day shift, 7:30am–4:00pm, with a supportive multidisciplinary environment and opportunities for growth.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent and at least 3 years of relevant clinical experience in a healthcare office setting, along with a solid understanding of medical terminology and surgical procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 3 years clinical experience in healthcare office settings, scheduling, and/or authorizations.
• Knowledge, skills, and abilities include a basic understanding of medical terminology and surgical procedures.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate surgical procedures, including scheduling with surgeon and surgical assistants, pre-operative preparation, and post-operative follow-up appointments.
• Coordinate with other healthcare providers for patient referrals and manage patient billing and insurance matters related to surgery.
• Inform patients about the details of their surgery, including risks, benefits, and recovery time.
• Ensure all necessary documentation and patient records are in order, including verification of advance directive status and informed consent forms when appropriate.
• Performs other duties as assigned to support overall effectiveness of department and organization.
