Job summary

Mercy in Fort Smith, AR is seeking a licensed practical nurse to join a fast-paced 26-bed unit caring for adult orthopedic and general surgical patients. You will apply the nursing process under supervision, coordinate care with a multidisciplinary team, and ensure patient rights and confidentiality are maintained.

Responsibilities include post-operative care, wound care, pain management, and patient education, with emphasis on safe discharge planning and recovery support within Mercy Service

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program.
• Current LPN license in the state of practice.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire.

Patient Population

This unit offers opportunities to develop expertise in pain management, wound care, mobility progression, rehabilitation, patient education, and discharge planning. Nurses work closely with an interdisciplinary team while caring for patients with wound vacs, surgical drains, PCA pumps, traction equipment, and other specialized post-surgical needs.
