THE IDEAL CANDIDATE NEEDS TO BE AN LPN OR A MEDICAL ASSISTANT

Summary/Objective

Provide basic medical and nursing care. Ensure patient comfort, discuss health care with patients, and report patient status to registered nurses and providers.

Essential Functions

• Identify and evaluate patient needs via telephone triage.
• Administer medication including injections; document medication given or prescribed by physician.
• Identify patient and family education needs and provide instruction.
• Recognize and respond to emergency situations appropriately.
• Follow Clinical Services policies and procedures when documenting in medical records.
• Facilitate patient flow to maintain office efficiency.
• Assist physicians with medical procedures.
• Maintain the integrity of the office environment.

Requirements

LPN Specialist Requirements:

• Graduate of an accredited Practical Nursing program.
• Active Florida LPN license.
• Minimum of 1 year experience or training in a healthcare facility as an LPN.

Medical Assistant Specialist Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or 1 year of recent Medical Assistant work experience.
• Medical Assistant Certification within 90 days of employment.
• Current BLS certification or to be obtained within first 90 days.
