Job summary

Watson Clinic in Lakeland, FL is seeking an LPN or Medical Assistant to provide basic medical and nursing care, ensure patient comfort, and communicate with providers about patient status.

Responsibilities include telephone triage, administering medications, documenting care, educating patients and families, and supporting the physician's office workflow in a fast-paced clinical setting.

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate of an accredited school of Practical Nursing and possess an active Florida LPN license.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or 1 year MA work experience within the last 2 years; MA certification within 90 days of employment.
• Current BLS certification or to be completed within first 90 days of employment.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE NEED TO BE AN LPN OR A MEDICAL ASSISTANT

Summary/Objective:

Provide basic medical and nursing care. Ensure the comfort of patients, discuss health care with patients, and report status of patients to registered nurses and providers.

Essential Functions

• Identifies and evaluates patient needs by way of telephone triage.
• Administers medication including injections; documents medication given or prescribed by ordering physician as required.
• Identifies patient and family education needs and provides instruction.
• Recognizes and responds to emergency situations as appropriate.
• Adheres to the Clinical Services policies and procedures when documenting information patient’s medical records
• Facilitates the flow of patients to maintain the integrity of the physician’s office.
• Assists the physician with medical office procedures.
• Maintain the integrity of the office.

Requirements

LPN Specialist requirements are:

Required Education and Experience: Must be a graduate of an accredited school of Practical Nursing. Must possess active Florida license as a Licensed Practical Nurse.

Preferred Education and Experience: Experience or training in a medical health care facility as a Licensed Practical Nurse.

Medical Assistant Specialist Requirements are:

Required Education and Experience: High school diploma or GED. Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or 1 year of Medical Assistant work experience within the last 2 years. Medical Assistant Certification must be obtained within 90 days of employment. Current BLS certification or to be completed within first 90 days of employment.
