Qualifications

• High school diploma with nursing coursework.
• LPN license required.
• Knowledge of nursing concepts and patient care.

Responsibilities

• Provide medical assistance and health care to special education students; monitor, assess and respond to medical conditions and health care needs of assigned students.
• Assist students with personal hygiene including dressing, washing and grooming as assigned.
• Provide treatment and administer first aid and emergency medical care as necessary.
• Assist teachers with instructional activities and support for students.
• Escort students to and from buses, classes and other locations as assigned.
• Assist students with physical therapy, occupational therapy, and mobility skills.
• Assist students in completing classroom assignments and handling educational materials.
• Operate medical equipment and ensure cleanliness of instruments and areas.
• Accompany students in mainstreamed classes as assigned.
• Attend in-services and training activities.
• Perform related duties as assigned by the Administrator.
