Williamson Health in Franklin, TN is seeking a LPN/RN for WHMG Gastroenterology. This full-time day position runs 8am–4:30pm and supports clinical operations.

The role provides nursing support, schedules tests, and maintains supplies while delivering patient care in a gastroenterology setting. Applicants must have a nursing degree and TN licensure; one year of medical office experience is preferred.

Job Description

This position provides clinical nursing support to Williamson Medical Group by communicating clinical information to patients and businesses, scheduling tests and consultations, obtaining clinical specimens, assessing patients, performing clinical office procedures and maintaining adequate clinical supplies.

Position Requirements

• Earned a nursing diploma or degree from a college or university
• Licensed by the State of Tennessee.
• At least one year of experience in medical office environment
• Must be competent in the use Glucometer, BP cuff, thermometer, computer, stethoscope, audio scope, business phone and various oral and injectable medications.
• Must be able to sit, stand, communicate, in English, both orally and in writing and lift over 20 pounds.

Key Results

• Accurately records patient's medical history and vital signs.
• Administers gastroenterology appropriate immunizations/injections
• Provide detailed patient instructions for gastrointestinal & endoscopic procedures.
• Orders and maintains clinical supplies and pharmaceuticals
• Coordinates patients set up with Infusion Centers.
• Coordinates cardiac clearance for patients be scheduled for procedures
• Triages phone calls and addresses patient portal messages.
• Obtain approval for gastrointestinal medication and specialized labs
• Assist with pathology letter to patients who had gastrointestinal or endoscopic procedure performed.
• Provide patient education related to their diagnosis and/or medication
• Secures consultations to other specialties
• Plan, assess & schedule gastrointestinal and endoscopic procedures
• Additional tasks as needed to help support the practitioners and management
