Job summary

Hillcrest Millard in Omaha, NE is seeking an RN or LPN for a Part-Time Day Nurse role. You will provide hands-on clinical care, coordinate needs of guests and residents, and collaborate with the care team in a post-acute and long-term care setting.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • Nebraska or compact-state RN or LPN license required.
  • American Heart Association BLS certification required.
  • One year of experience in long-term care, post-acute rehabilitation, hospital, or similar setting preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality nursing care to guests and residents in a post-acute and long-term care setting.
  • Administer medications accurately, safely, and according to physician orders and established procedures.
  • Complete prescribed treatments and monitor response to care.
  • Assess guests and residents for changes in condition and communicate concerns promptly.
  • Use clinical judgment to determine appropriate next steps when needs change.
  • Complete weekly assessments accurately and on time.
  • Review and update care plans as guest or resident needs change.
  • Complete admission care plans and assist with transitions of care.
  • Collaborate with Nurse Techs and other care team members to ensure care is completed according to the plan of care.
  • Provide clinical guidance and support to members of the nursing team.
  • Complete required documentation accurately, timely, and thoroughly.
  • Participate in daily interdisciplinary huddles and communicate important clinical updates.
  • Work closely with physicians, families, therapy, and other interdisciplinary team members.
  • Respond calmly and effectively to changing or urgent clinical situations.
  • Follow established infection-control, medication-management, safety, and regulatory requirements.
  • Jump in wherever needed to help the team provide excellent care.

What You’ll Do

As a Day Nurse, you will provide hands-on clinical care while helping coordinate the needs of guests and residents throughout the day.

You will:

  • Provide high-quality nursing care to guests and residents in a post-acute and long-term care setting.
  • Administer medications accurately, safely, and according to physician orders and established procedures.
  • Complete prescribed treatments and monitor response to care.
  • Assess guests and residents for changes in condition and communicate concerns promptly.
  • Use strong clinical judgment to determine appropriate next steps when needs change.
  • Complete weekly assessments accurately and on time.
  • Help maintain skin integrity by following preventative skin-care practices and completing required skin assessments.
  • Review and update care plans as guest or resident needs change.
  • Complete admission care plans and assist with transitions of care.
  • Partner with Nurse Techs and other care team members to ensure care is completed according to the plan of care.
  • Provide clinical guidance and support to members of the nursing team.
  • Complete required documentation accurately, timely, and thoroughly.
  • Participate in daily interdisciplinary huddles and communicate important clinical updates.
  • Work closely with physicians, families, therapy, and other interdisciplinary team members.
  • Respond calmly and effectively to changing or urgent clinical situations.
  • Follow established infection-control, medication-management, safety, and regulatory requirements.

Education & Credentials
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program required.

  • One year of experience in long-term care, post-acute rehabilitation, hospital, or a similar setting preferred.

  • Must follow established nursing, medication, infection-control, documentation, and safety procedures.
