Job summary

Arbor Springs West Des Moines is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to provide direct nursing care to residents and support memory care residents as needed in a tranquil senior living community in Des Moines, IA.

The role includes supervising Certified Nursing Assistants under the direction of the RN and Nursing Administration, ensuring every shift maintains the highest standards of safety, dignity, and quality of life for residents.

Qualifications

• Must be a Licensed Practical Nurse in good standing and licensed by the State.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must read and write in a legible and understandable manner.
• Must speak and understand English.
• Previous nursing experience desirable.
• Knowledge of nursing practices and elder care regulations is desirable.
• Positive attitude toward the elderly.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to residents and supervise the day-to-day nursing activities of CNAs under the RN and Nursing Administration.
• Ensure that federal, state and local standards governing the facility are followed to maintain high quality care.

General Purpose

To provide direct nursing care to the residents and to supervise the day-to-day nursing activities of Certified Nursing Assistants in accordance with federal, state and local standards governing the facility, and as may be directed by the RN, Director of Nursing Services and Administration, to ensure that the highest degree of quality care is always maintained.

Qualifications

• Must be a Licensed Practical Nurse in good standing and currently licensed by the State or in training to satisfactorily complete the requirements to become a LPN
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Must show ability to read and write in a legible and understandable manner
• Must speak and understand English
• Previous experience in a nursing capacity desirable
• Must be knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures and laws
• Knowledge of regulations and guidelines governing long-term care desirable
