Job summary

Kids for the Future seeks a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our healthcare team at Darby, PA. This temporary/PRN position involves overseeing resident care, administering medications, and coordinating with the healthcare team to ensure high-quality nursing services.

Ideal candidates have a PA LPN license, at least 2 years of nursing experience in long-term care, and are comfortable collaborating with doctors, DON, and RN staff.

Qualifications

• LPN licensure required in PA.
• Minimum 2 years nursing experience.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• PA licensing system (BPOA) active license required.
• Long-term care experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Oversees the care of residents and all components of that care.
• Provides medical treatments as ordered.
• Responds to concerns from residents' immediate family.
• Administers medications safely; responsible for monthly MARs.
• Collaborates with DON and RN to determine levels of care.
• Prepares daily and monthly recaps of orders.
• Coordinates with healthcare professionals via phone or telemedicine.
• Records medication deliveries from Pharmacy during shifts; ensures accuracy.
• Communicates with physicians and other providers about resident care and appointments.
• Oversees Nursing Assistants.
• Responds to emergencies per policy and clinical judgment.
• Develops and updates care plans as needed.
