Job summary

Christie Clinic’s Endocrinology department in Bloomington is seeking a full-time LPN/RN to provide professional nursing care for clinic patients, Monday–Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm. After successful training and competency completion, a hybrid/remote schedule of one day per week is available.

The role requires a 2-year nursing degree, Illinois LPN or RN license, CPR certification, and annual health-related CEUs. Nursing experience is preferred.

Job Duties

• Administer prescribed medications, treatment and injections in accordance with nursing standards and provider directions.
• Prepare equipment and assist the provider during treatment, examination and/or testing of the patient.
• Observe, record and report patient’s condition and reaction to medication and/or treatment to provider.
• Act as liaison between the patient and provider regarding complaints, concerns, etc.
• Instruct patient and family regarding medication, treatment instructions and patient education.
• Respond to triage calls using nursing assessment.
• Perform special testing on patients.
• Give injections to patients and draw blood as needed in accordance with nursing standards and provider directions.
• Obtain prior authorizations from insurance companies for medications and procedures.
• Perform related work as required.
• Arrange for patient testing and admission.
• Send prescription refills in accordance with nursing standards and provider directions.
• Maintain work list from provider and follow up on labs, tests, reports, etc.
• Attend and participate in departmental huddles and any other meetings as necessary.

Required Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited nursing school.
• Evidence of annual completion of health‑related courses and/or seminars with a certificate and/or CEU’s.

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional nursing experience.

Certificate / License

• Possession of an Illinois State LPN or Registered Nurse License.
• CPR Certification.

Typical Physical Demands

Demands include sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, stretching, and lifting up to 75 pounds. Hearing within or correctable to normal range, vision correctable to 20/20, and manual dexterity for office equipment operation are required.

Typical Working Conditions

Work is performed in a clinical setting with potential exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, hazardous waste, bodily fluids, and other waste common to a health care environment. Work may include irregular hours.

Pay and Benefits

The estimated pay range for this position, exclusive of fringe benefits and potential bonuses, is $22.94 to $44.55 per hour, based on skill set, experience, qualifications, and other job‑related criteria. LPN pay range: $22.94 to $31.54 per hour. RN pay range: $32.40 to $44.55 per hour.
