The LPN will document care, monitor patient status, and participate in interdisciplinary plans of care, with mandatory BLS and IV certification. Candidates must be fluent in English and able to meet unit-specific requirements.

Qualifications

• Education: Graduate of a practical nursing program.
• Licensure: Current Florida LPN license or endorsement.
• American Heart Association BLS Healthcare Provider completion card required prior to start date.
• Florida State approved 30 hour IV Certification with minimum 4 hours on central lines within 6 months of hire.
• Certification(s) as required by specific unit.
• Must be able to speak/understand English.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates effective administration of medications and IV therapy as evidenced by Preceptor Observation Tool and Clinical Practice.
• Documents all nursing care, change in condition, response to therapy, treatments, procedures, and referrals on patient record to meet standards.
• Monitors patients as per established standards; provides start-of-shift summaries to RN and reports changes to RN throughout shift.
• Follows interdisciplinary plan of care, coordinated by the RN, based on current evidence-based practice.
• Completes annual Competency Assessment to demonstrate safe clinical practice.
• Responds to call light in a timely manner and supports team function.
