Job summary

Riverside Health System is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in Virginia to support nursing care under supervision of a Registered Nurse, Nurse Manager, or Nursing Supervisor. You will monitor residents, participate in planning, implementation, and evaluation of care, and assist in supervising auxiliary staff.

Responsibilities include administering medications and treatments per orders, upholding resident privacy and dignity, and coordinating duties for CNAs to ensure quality care.

Qualifications

• Less than 1 year Nursing experience (Preferred)
• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - Virginia Department of Health Professions (VDHP) Upon Hire(Required)
• CPR/BLS Certification - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/AHA/ARC within 30 Days(Required)

Responsibilities

• Medications and treatments are administered accurately and according to provider’s orders.
• Allows resident choices within limits of capability considering safety /dignity issues and follows policies and procedures of facility to include resident privacy and dignity.
• Assigns duties to non-professional staff such as CNAs according to education, training, policy and resident need in order to assure quality resident care is delivered. Engages team members for optimal performance and addresses performance as needed.
• Participates in administering medications, treatments, monitoring and observation of resident care. Identifies changes in condition with proper documentation according to standards of nursing practice. Demonstrates consistent follow through to promote positive resident outcomes. The uses good judgment and specialized skills.
