Job summary

Mercy’s Regional Float Pool seeks a dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse to float among East Region facilities, primarily on nights. This full-time role offers a $2,000 sign-on bonus and a live schedule across multiple hospitals.

You’ll provide bedside nursing care, adapt to varied units (Med‑Surg, ED, ICU, etc.), and enjoy Mercy benefits from day one, including medical/dental coverage, a 401(k) match, tuition reimbursement up to $2,000 per year, and a $1,500 referral bonus.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program.
• Current LPN license in hiring state.
• Minimum 1 year bedside LPN experience for Med Surg; 2 years for ED/ICU.
• BLS, ACLS/PALS as required for unit.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care across multiple Mercy facilities.
• Float across Med-Surg, ED, ICU, and other units as assigned.
• Provide bedside nursing care and patient education.

Qualifications:

Required Education:

Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program

Licensure:

Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining a current LPN license within the hiring state in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all State Board of Nursing requirements

Experience:

One year of recent bed-side LPN experience to work Med Surg. For all other specialties (ED, ICU, etc.) a minimum of two years of recent bed-side LPN experience.

Preferred Experience:

Certifications (Must have to start) :

For Med Surg (MS) - BLS

For Critical Care (CC) - BLS, ACLS

For Emergency Department (ED) - BLS, ACLS, & PALSIV certification requiredPhysical Requirements/Demands:

Stand/Walk most of the time on duty; significant amount of bending and stooping, as well as lifting and turning patients with assistance; push/pull/grip up to 50 pounds
