Job summary

Raleigh General Hospital seeks an LPN to support RN-led patient care in an in-person, full-time role. You will collect data for assessments, assist with plans of care, medications, wound care, and daily living activities, while documenting care and communicating with the care team.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved practical nursing program.
• Current LPN license to practice in the Commonwealth of VA (per ad) in good standing.
• BCLS certification within 30 days of hire/transfer.
• Knowledge of ICD-9/ICD-10, CPT codes, insurance benefits and healthcare backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient assessment data collection under RN direction.
• Contribute to plan of care and documentation of care provided.
• May administer medications and wound care as directed.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living and mobility.
• Schedule appointments and obtain insurance pre-authorizations as needed.
• Communicate patient status and responses to interventions with the care team.

How you'll contribute

AnLPN,who excels in this role:

• Under the direction of an RN, contributes to the assessment of patients by collecting data for analysis by an RN.
• Performs plan of care interventions, including specimen collection and wound care.
• May administer medication.
• Documents patient care given.
• Assists RN with development of plan of care.
• Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Monitors, documents, and communicates patient's status and reactions to interventions with RN, physician, patient, and families.
• Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
• Schedules, appointments and procedures as ordered by the provider.
• Obtains insurance re-authorizations as requested for testing and scheduled procedures.

What we're looking for

• Education: Graduate of an approved practical nursing program
• License: Current LPN/PN to practice in the Commonwealth of VA and be in good standing with the Board of health Professions
• Certifications: BCLS within 30 days of hire/transfer
• Minimum Work Experience:
• Knowledge of ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT codes, insurance benefits and healthcare backgrounds Required
