Job summary

Optum NV is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for adult medicine in Pahrump, NV. This role supports our patient care team and offers a $4,000 sign-on bonus for external candidates.

You'll perform clinical tasks under provider supervision, document patient information, and participate in care coordination. No weekends, nights or holidays. The hourly pay ranges from $20 to $36.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Current, unrestricted NV LPN license or temporary NV LPN license with ability to obtain permanent license.
• Current CPR/BLS certification required.
• 1+ years of clinical experience in primary care.

Responsibilities

• Collect and document patient information including vital signs, chief complaint, medications, allergies, and health risk screening.
• Provide clinical interventions such as drug administration, treatments, and procedures as ordered within scope of practice.
• Assist with phone calls and messages.
• Collaborate with RN and team to coordinate patient care and resolve issues.
• Monitor patients with chronic disease and verify eligibility for services.
• Assist RN with coordination and completion of patient care plans.
• Maintain compliance with laboratory QC, waivers, crash cart, and narcotic counts.

Skills

This LPN position is in adult medicine.

Location: 2210 E CALVADA Pahrump, NV

No weekends, nights or holidays.

Position Highlights & Primary Responsibilities:

• Collection and documentation of patient information to include vital signs, chief compliant, review of medications, allergies health risk screen information, status of extended care benefits and other services
• Provide clinical intervention such as drug administration, treatments, and procedures as ordered by provider and within scope of practice
• Assist with phone calls and messages
• Determine best actions and collaborate with team to assign accountabilities to resolve
• Participate in monitoring patients with chronic disease and extended care benefits including verification of eligibility and status of services
• Anticipate provider needs for patient exam or treatment in collaboration with RN
• Assist RN with the coordination and completion of patient care plan
• Assist coworkers with duties when requested to include training of medical
• Assistants and assisting in areas as needed
• Compliance requirements such as laboratory QC management, waive testing, maintenance of crash cart and narcotic count as well as other requirements dictated by clinic needs
• Gather medical information as needed to present cases to ITDs as required
• Other responsibilities as required

Qualifications - External

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED
• Current, unrestricted NV LPN license or temporary NV LPN license with the ability to obtain permanent NV LPN license upon expiration of temporary NV LPN license
• Current CPR/BLS certification
• 1+ years of clinical experience in primary care

Preferred Qualifications:

• Electronic medical records (EMR) experience
• Immunization and injection experience
• Charge or leadership experience
• Bilingual in English and Spanish
