IU Health in Muncie, IN 47304 is seeking a compassionate LPN to join our care team. Schedule is Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM, with a focus on delivering high-quality nursing care and collaborating with RNs and providers.

The ideal candidate will hold an LPN license in Indiana, have BLS certification, and be willing to learn and support teammates in a fast-paced clinical setting. Orientation and potential experience requirements apply.

Qualifications

• Must graduate from a nationally accredited LPN program.
• Active LPN license in Indiana or NLC LPN license required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; other ACLS/PALS may be required per unit.
• Successful completion of orientation required.
• 1-2 years of relevant experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform and document patient assessments within the LPN scope of practice.
• Obtain and monitor vital signs.
• Administer medications (oral, topical, subcutaneous, IM) as policy allows.
• Monitor patients and report changes to RN or provider.
• Assist with admission, discharge, and transfer processes.
• Provide wound care and dressing changes.

Typical Responsibilities

• Performing and documenting patient assessments within the LPN scope of practice.

• Monitoring patients for changes in condition and reporting concerns to the RN or provider.
• Assisting with admission, discharge, and transfer processes.

Knows and uses the nursing process in planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care to individual patients. Collaborates with other members of the healthcare team. Evaluates response to interventions and patient status toward goal achievement. Accepts delegated nursing measures for which he or she knows he or she is prepared, qualified and licensed to perform.

• Requires graduation from a nationally accredited licensed practical nursing program.
• Requires an active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) LPN license.
• Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA. Other advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
