Job summary

CSL Plasma in Dallas, TX seeks a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to evaluate donor suitability for automated pheresis and to provide limited emergency medical care to donors and staff. The role includes interviewing donors, conducting medical histories, and escalating critical medical situations as needed.

The candidate will work with the Center Medical Director to answer donor questions about suitability and to review test results, ensuring continued safe donation.

Qualifications

  • Graduate from a paramedic, nursing, physician assistant, chiropractic, medical school or naturopathic training program.
  • Must hold an active LPN license.
  • Minimum of one year healthcare experience.
  • Experience in a plasma/whole blood collection center or other regulated environment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate donor suitability for automated pheresis procedures.
  • Provide limited emergency medical care to donors and staff including administering medication or treatments.
  • Interview donors and perform medical history reviews to determine donor suitability.
  • Respond to medically related questions and provide information to staff on donor suitability with Center Medical Director.
  • Notify and counsel donors regarding reactive test results; refer donors to community facilities for follow-up and counseling.
  • Provide routine care following SOPs; escalate critical medical situations to Center Physician or local medical service providers as required.
