Job summary

Quality Correctional Care (QCC) seeks a dedicated LPN to provide nursing care at Allen County Correctional Center in Fort Wayne. Part-Time 6pm-6am, two shifts per week, with a $30-$36/hour pay range based on experience.

You will administer medications, perform intakes, manage chronic care, respond to emergencies, and educate patients while complying with laws and regulations.

Qualifications

• LPN licensure required.
• CPR certification required.
• Ability to stand for extended periods.
• Lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, and deliver comprehensive healthcare to patients.
• Administer medications.
• Perform medical intakes and assess fitness for incarceration.
• Respond to sick call requests and follow up with medical provider.
• Change dressings as required.
• Perform 14-day physicals and manage chronic care.
• Educate patients on health concerns.
• Respond to medical emergencies with life-saving measures and leadership.

Nursing Responsibilities:

• Assess, plan, and deliver comprehensive healthcare to patients by providing the following:
  • Administer medications
  • Perform medical intakes and assess if patient is fit for incarceration, as needed
  • Respond to sick call requests and follow up with the medical provider when needed
  • Check and/or change medical dressings as required by the medical provider
  • Performing 14-day physicals
  • Managing chronic care
  • Providing patient education on health concerns
  • Responding to medical emergencies
    • Be capable of performing life saving measures and ability to take charge and give direction in an emergency.
  • Maintain working knowledge of pharmacology, including but not limited to drug reaction/overdose, formulary/non-formulary medications, and knowledge of medication costs
  • Be able to provide insight and direction to Medically Trained Personnel, as needed.
  • Comply with all current and future state, federal, and local laws and regulations

Allen County Correctional Center, Fort Wayne

Shift Opening(s):

Part-Time 6pm-6am 2 shifts/week

Pay Range:

$30-36/hour based on experience

Requirements:

• Valid LPNlicensure
• Valid CPR certification
• Must be able to stand for extended periods of time
• Must be able to push, pull, reach, and bend frequently
• Must be capable of lifting up to 50 pounds
