Job summary

Quality Correctional Care (QCC) is seeking dedicated nursing professionals to provide comprehensive healthcare within the Wayne County Jail in Richmond, Indiana. The role requires valid LPN or RN licensure and CPR certification, with shifts offered part-time (6 AM–6 PM or 6 PM–6 AM) one day per week.

Responsibilities include administering medications, performing intakes, addressing sick calls, changing dressings, and managing chronic care, while responding to emergencies and following

Qualifications

• Valid LPN or RN licensure required.
• CPR certification required.
• Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Part-time availability: one day per week shift 6 AM-6 PM or 6 PM-6 AM.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, and deliver comprehensive healthcare to patients by providing medications administration and medical care.
• Perform medical intakes and assess if patient is fit for incarceration, as needed.
• Respond to sick call requests and follow up with the medical provider as needed.
• Check and/or change medical dressings as required by the medical provider.
• Perform 14-day physicals and manage chronic care.
• Provide patient education on health concerns.
• Respond to medical emergencies and be capable of life-saving measures.

Nursing Responsibilities:

• Assess, plan, and deliver comprehensive healthcare to patients by providing the following:
  • Administer medications
  • Perform medical intakes and assess if patient is fit for incarceration, as needed

  • Performing 14-day physicals
  • Managing chronic care
  • Providing patient education on health concerns
  • Responding to medical emergencies
    • Be capable of performing life saving measures and ability to take charge and give direction in an emergency
• Maintain working knowledge of pharmacology, including but not limited to drug reaction/overdose, formulary/non-formulary medications, and knowledge of medication costs
• Be able to provide insight and direction to Medically Trained Personnel, as needed
• Comply with all current and future state, federal, and local laws and regulations

Shift Opening(s)

• Part-time one day per week 6 AM to 6 PM
• Part-time one day per week 6 PM to 6 AM

Requirements

• Valid LPN or RN licensure
• Valid CPR certification
• Must be able to stand for extended periods of time
• Must be able to push, pull, reach, and bend frequently
• Must be capable of lifting up to 50 pounds
