Job summary

Clinical Athlete in Sherman, TX seeks a Licensed Practical Nurse for outpatient primary care of Veterans. You will provide prescribed medical treatment under physician direction and collaborate with the PACT team to develop patient care plans in the VA setting.

The role emphasizes documentation in VISTA/CPRS, patient education, and adherence to VA compliance while supporting enrollment efforts and coordinating care with clinics and caregivers.

Qualifications

• Diploma or certificate in practical or vocational nursing as approved by the state.
• Minimum one-year experience as an LPN/LVN in a primary or ambulatory care setting; government healthcare environment preferred.
• Must be credentialed and in good standing with VA.
• Valid, unrestricted nursing license in the state of employment or applicable VA requirements.
• Current BLS certification and ACLS as required by VA contracts.
• Proficiency in English (written and spoken).
• This is a safety sensitive position.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient care, exams and ancillary tests.
• Perform nursing assessments and preventive health services per VA guidelines.
• Administer medications as directed and document in electronic records.
• Operate diagnostic equipment and perform routine tests.
• Dress wounds, assist with emergencies, and manage specimens for testing.
• Enter patient data into VISTA/CPRS and complete clinical reminders.
• Support front desk duties and patient enrollment activities.
• Collaborate with VA providers and community resources for patient care.
