Job summary

Maniilaq Association in Kotzebue, Alaska is seeking a Part-Time Licensed Practical Nurse to perform nursing duties across medical/surgical, pediatric, obstetrical, and emergency settings in the hospital and in medical evacuation situations.

The LPN will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care using the nursing process, monitor patient status with the RN staff, document outcomes, administer medications, and assist with exams, emergencies, and routine procedures while maintaining patient

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited LPN program.
• Must have LPN license in good standing and be eligible to apply for Alaska licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse
• Ability to lift up to 70 pounds and spend long periods of standing and walking.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care using the nursing process.
• Observe patient condition and collaborate with RN staff on interventions.
• Screen patients, document chief complaint and vital signs.
• Transcribe orders, prepare lab/x-ray slips, and assist in transporting patients.
• Perform treatments or procedures per hospital policy and administer medications as ordered.
• Communicate with RN staff and adjust care plans as needed.
• Document patient care per hospital policy.
• Assist in exams and with physicians; provide emergency care as needed.
• Maintain supplies and equipment.
• Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.
