Job summary

Advocate Health in Charlotte, NC, seeks a part-time Licensed Practical Nurse to provide patient-centered care in an outpatient behavioral health clinic. This PRN role offers day shifts, Monday–Friday, with a focus on comprehensive nursing support in a fast-paced outpatient setting.

Responsibilities include rooming patients, vital signs, specimen collection, assisting with exams, administering medications, coordinating follow-up care, and maintaining sterile, ready-to-use exam rooms.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Practical Nursing program.
• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in the practicing state.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 45 days unless exempted.

Responsibilities

• Room patients, obtain vital signs and update medical information.
• Collect specimens and perform basic laboratory testing according to infection control standards.
• Assist providers with exams, procedures and minor surgeries.
• Administer medications, immunizations, injections, and IV therapy as permitted.
• Educate patients and coordinate follow-up care, referrals and prescriptions.
• Document patient information and communicate with the care team.
• Perform advanced procedures as trained (EKG, phlebotomy, spirometry, wound care).
• Prepare, stock and maintain exam rooms and equipment.
• Support quality improvement and patient-centered care.
