Job summary

UPMC Western Maryland’s 6 West Ortho/Trauma Unit is seeking LPNs with solid nursing judgment to participate in planning, implementing and evaluating patient care in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. The role involves coordinating with the care team, documenting thoroughly, and guiding patients and families through episodes of care.

New hires may be eligible for a sign-on bonus up to $12,500. All roles require rotating weekends and holidays and completing IV therapy within 4 months of

Qualifications

• Must have completed an approved Licensed Practical Nursing Program.
• IV therapy curriculum required within 4 months of hire/transfer.
• BLS or CPR certification.
• Current LPN license in state or active multistate license under NLC, with residency rules as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care within the scope of LPN practice.
• Collaborate with health care team to plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
• Document patient care accurately and communicate patient conditions to team.
• Participate in teaching patients and families about care plans and transitions.
• Support orientation and development of other LPN staff.
