Job summary

UPMC Western Maryland is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant/Patient Care Technician to join the Ortho/Trauma Unit. You will provide routine patient care and support services while growing in a setting that offers great benefits and room for advancement. The schedule includes rotating weekends and holidays.

The role requires CNA licensure, CPR certification, and direct patient care under RN/LPN supervision. Up to a $5,000 sign-on bonus is offered with a 2-year commitment.

Qualifications

• Certified Nursing Assistant license required.
• CPR certification required within 30 days of hire (AHA standards).
• Experience as a CNA/PCT in a hospital setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct resident/patient care as directed by the RN/LPN.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized environment in rooms and department.
• Perform routine tasks including vital signs and intake/output documentation.
• Acquire and distribute supplies and prepare care equipment as needed.
• Respond to call lights and patient needs in a timely manner.
• Maintain current CPR certification and assist with resident/patient safety.
• Document care in the medical record following procedures.
