Job summary

Grifols in Brookings, SD, seeks a Center Medical Specialist to perform donor evaluations, establish medical histories, and determine donor suitability while upholding donor confidentiality and safety standards.

You will build rapport with donors, provide counseling on health topics, monitor for adverse events, and assist in staff training. A current LPN/LVN/RN license and CPR certification are required. Grifols offers competitive pay and comprehensive benefits.

• Educated and currently licensed per state requirements.

• Educate donors on general health and potential test results.
• Evaluate and manage donor injuries/adverse events.
• Assist in employee training and education.
• Administer Hepatitis vaccine program for staff.

About the Job

• Perform physical examination and establish medical history to determine donor suitability
• Build rapport with donors to ensure overall customer satisfaction
• Ensure donor and staff confidentiality
• Responsible for donor awareness to potential hazards
• Provide donor education regarding general health and provide counseling regarding unacceptable test results
• Evaluate & manage donor injuries and adverse events
• Perform evaluations of any history of illness or medications to ensure continued donor suitability
• Assist in employee training
• Administer employee Hepatitis Vaccine program

Job Requirements

• Educated and currently certified/licensed in the state of employment and according to state requirements as a Licensed Practical Nurse, Licensed Vocation Nurse or Registered Nurse.
• CPR certification required.
