Job summary

SENTA Partners is seeking a LPN/Medical Assistant to perform administrative and clinical duties under physician supervision in a fast-paced ENT/allergy practice. Expect responsibilities ranging from vital signs to immunotherapy administration and patient education.

Qualifications include high school diploma, certification preferred (SC requires MA cert; LPN license in practice state), CPR preferred (BLS in SC), and experience with EHR systems.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Medical Assistant Certification preferred (required for South Carolina).
• Active LPN license in state of practice.
• CPR Certification preferred (BLS required for South Carolina).
• Experience in a clinical or outpatient setting, preferably ENT or Allergy.
• Proficient in using electronic health records systems and basic computer applications.

Responsibilities

• Assist the physician with patient care during office visits.
• Perform diagnostic procedures such as skin testing and pulmonary function testing.
• Draw blood and prepare specimens for laboratory tests.
• Administer immunotherapy injections and maintain records of treatments.
• Treat emergency and priority patients, including CPR if necessary.
• Assist in patient telephone communications and prescription refills.
• Maintain an aseptic environment in the medical office.
• Educate patients on their condition, treatment plan, and use of equipment.

Position Summary

Within the scope the scope of credentials and licensure, LPN / Medical Assistant performs administrative and clinical duties under the direction of a physician. Clinical duties include taking and recording vital signs and medical histories, preparing patients for examination, drawing blood, administering medications and injections as directed by physician. Administrative duties may include scheduling appointments and maintaining medical records.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the physician as instructed with patient care during office visits.
• Perform diagnostic procedures, such as skin testing, pulmonary function testing and drawling blood for laboratory tests.
• Administer immunotherapy injections and maintain extract and records of treatment.
• Treat emergency and priority patients, including the use of CPR, if necessary.
• Assist the physician with patients by telephone, including instructions to sick patients and prescription refills.
• Assist in management and treatment of reactions which occur secondary to immunotherapy.
• Maintain an aseptic environment appropriate for medical office.
• Educate patients on their physical condition, treatment plan, use of equipment and medication deliver devices, environmental controls and any other issues which may affect the patients' care.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent
• For Medical Assistants: Medical Assistant Certification preferred(required for South Carolina)
• For Licensed Practical Nurses: Active LPN and unrestricted license in the state of practice required
• CPR Certification preferred(BLS required for South Carolina)
• Previous experience in a clinical or outpatient setting, preferably in ENT or Allergy
