Job summary

Center for Allergy & Asthma of Georgia (CAAG) seeks an LPN or Medical Assistant to deliver compassionate patient care in a busy ENT/allergy practice. Under physician supervision, you will take vital signs, prepare patients for exams, and support clinical and administrative tasks.

You will perform skin testing and pulmonary function testing, administer injections, manage immunotherapy records, and assist with front-desk duties as needed. Experience with EHR and outpatient care is preferred.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Medical Assistant Certification preferred.
  • Active LPN license in the state of practice required.
  • CPR certification preferred.
  • Previous experience in a clinical or outpatient setting, preferably in ENT or allergy.
  • Proficient in using electronic health record systems and basic computer applications.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the physician with patient care during office visits.
  • Perform diagnostic procedures, such as skin testing and pulmonary function testing.
  • Administer immunotherapy injections and maintain extracts and records of treatment.
  • Treat emergency and priority patients, including the use of CPR if necessary.
  • Assist in patient communications by telephone, including instructions and prescriptions.
  • Assist in management and treatment of reactions from immunotherapy.
  • Maintain an aseptic environment in the medical office.
  • Educate patients on their condition, treatment plan, and equipment.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Position Summary

Within the scope of credentials and licensure, an LPN / Medical Assistant performs administrative and clinical duties under the direction of a physician. Clinical duties include taking and recording vital signs and medical histories, preparing patients for examination, drawing blood, administering medications and injections as directed by the physician. Administrative duties may include scheduling appointments and maintaining medical records.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the physician as instructed with patient care during office visits.
  • Perform diagnostic procedures, such as skin testing and pulmonary function testing.
  • Administer immunotherapy injections and maintain extracts and records of treatment.
  • Treat emergency and priority patients, including the use of CPR if necessary.
  • Assist the physician with patients by telephone, including instructions to sick patients and prescription refills.
  • Assist in management and treatment of reactions which occur secondary to immunotherapy.
  • Maintain an aseptic environment appropriate for the medical office.
  • Educate patients on their physical condition, treatment plan, use of equipment and medication delivery devices, environmental controls, and any other issues that may affect the patients' care.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Clinic hours:
    • Monday–Friday
    • Half-day Fridays (office closes at 1:30 pm)
    • No weekends

Requirements
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • For medical assistants: Medical Assistant Certification preferred.
  • For licensed practical nurses: active LPN and unrestricted license in the state of practice required.
  • CPR certification preferred.
  • Previous experience in a clinical or outpatient setting, preferably in ENT or allergy.
  • Proficient in using electronic health record systems and basic computer applications.
