Job summary

VA Palo Alto Health Care System is seeking an on-site Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide licensed practical nursing services at VA facilities. You will support patient care under the direction of Registered Nurses and VA clinical staff, and perform LPN duties within VA standards.

Qualifications

• Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license with no negative indicators.
• Minimum two (2) years of recent LPN experience.
• Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English fluently.
• Ability to pass VA background investigation and credentialing.
• Completion of required VA training, immunizations, and occupational health screenings prior to first duty shift.

Responsibilities

• Provide licensed practical nursing services on-site at VA Palo Alto Health Care System facilities.
• Support patient care activities under the direction of Registered Nurses and VA clinical staff.
• Perform nursing tasks within LPN scope of practice consistent with VA standards.
• Assist with patient monitoring, documentation, and daily care activities.
• Follow VA clinical protocols, infection control practices, and safety requirements.
• Complete VA-required training prior to first duty shift and annually thereafter.
• Accurately track and report hours worked per VA procedures.
