Job summary

AdventHealth in Orlando, FL, is seeking a licensed practical nurse for the AdventHealth Cancer Institute location. Schedule: Monday–Friday 0645–1730 (4×10 hour shifts). Location: 2501 N Orange Ave, Orlando, FL 32804.

Requires LPN licensure and CPR certification; 1+ year preferred. Performs assessments, plans care, and educates patients within nursing scope. Monitors patient status, communicates plans to the team, delegates tasks, transcribes orders, and maintains licensure.

Qualifications

• LPN licensed and CPR certified.
• 1+ years related experience preferred.
• Basic computer skills and good communication.

Responsibilities

• Monitor patient status and report findings to the healthcare team.
• Communicate plan of care verbally during shift handoff.
• Delegate tasks to unlicensed personnel and ensure competency.
• Transcribe and implement physician orders within scope.
• Maintain licensure and certifications; complete competency testing.
• Participate in quality improvement and policy changes.
• Administer treatments and medications safely.
• Review patient care plans with RN, patient, family, and team.
• Collect comprehensive patient data during shifts.

Job Description:

Schedule: Monday - Friday 0645-1730 (4 X 10 Hour Shifts)

Location: AdventHealth Cancer Institute - 2501 N Orange Avenue, Suite 781, Orlando, FL 32804

• Monitors patient status throughout the shift, reporting pertinent information and significant findings to the healthcare team.
• Communicates the plan of care to other healthcare team members verbally throughout the shift and during shift report.
• Delegates tasks appropriately to unlicensed personnel, ensuring they have demonstrated competence.
• Transcribes and implements physician orders within the scope of practice. Provides patient education based on identified needs.
• Maintains current licensures and certifications, completing competency testing and skills validation.
• Participates in unit quality improvement activities and provides input on policy/procedure changes.
• Assists with Quality Indicators, including Core Measures, and accurately complete nursing documentation.
• Other duties as assigned. Administers ordered treatments and medications safely and competently within the scope of practice.
• Reviews and implements patient care plans in collaboration with the RN, patient, family, and healthcare team.
• Collects comprehensive patient data under the direct supervision of the RN, including physical, psychosocial, environmental, and developmental information.
• Performs and documents data collection on admission and during each shift for all assigned patients within the designated time frame.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Basic computer skills, excellent human relations and oral/written skills. [Required]

Education:

• Technical/Vocational School [Required]

Field of Study:

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or equivalent LPN program

Work Experience:

• 1+ years related experience [Preferred]
