Job summary

Optum, a part of UnitedHealth Group, is seeking an LPN for nights on the Hospice Inpatient Unit. You will provide quality patient care under RN supervision, administer medications, assist physicians, and support daily activities for patients in the hospice setting.

Requires an LPN license, valid driver’s license, and CPR certification (or within 90 days). Competitive pay ($25.20–$37.80/hr) with a comprehensive benefits package and 401k contribution.

Qualifications

• Current and unrestricted LPN licensure in state of practice.
• Current driver's license and vehicle insurance, and access to a dependable vehicle or public transportation.
• Current CPR certification or ability to complete within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs skilled nursing services under the supervision of a staff RN daily.
• Administers prescribed medications and treatments as permitted by state regulations.
• Assists the physician and/or staff RN in performing specialized procedures as needed.
• Assists the patient with daily activities and encourages appropriate self-care daily.
• Reports to the patient's physician and other appropriate personnel regarding pertinent changes in the patient's condition as needed.
• Performs complex wound care if in-service is documented for specific procedure daily or as needed.

As the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in Hospice is responsible for providing quality patient care and performing technical skilled care at the hopsice inpatient unit.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Performs skilled nursing services under the supervision of a staff RN daily
• Administers prescribed medications and treatments as permitted by state regulations
• Assists the physician and/or staff RN in performing specialized procedures as needed
• Assists the patient with daily activities and encourages appropriate self-care daily
• Reports to the patient's physician and other appropriate personnel regarding pertinent changes in the patient's condition as needed
• Performs complex wound care if in-service is documented for specific procedure daily or as needed
• Ability to function in any home situation regardless of age, race, creed, color, sex, disability, or financial condition of the client
