Job summary

UnitedHealth Group is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join the hospice inpatient unit. You will provide skilled nursing care, administer medications, and assist physicians and RNs with procedures while supporting patients’ daily activities and self-care.

The role emphasizes compassionate care, adherence to state regulations, and collaboration with a multi-disciplinary team to deliver quality outcomes. A valid LPN license and reliable transportation are required.

Qualifications

  • Current and unrestricted LPN licensure in state of practice.
  • Current driver’s license and vehicle insurance, and access to a dependable vehicle or public transportation.
  • Preferred CPR certification or ability to complete within 90 days of hire.
  • Hospice experience (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Performs skilled nursing services under the supervision of a staff RN daily.
  • Administers prescribed medications and treatments as permitted by state regulations.
  • Assists the physician and/or staff RN in performing specialized procedures as needed.
  • Assists the patient with daily activities and encourages appropriate self-care daily.
  • Reports to the patient's physician and other appropriate personnel regarding pertinent changes in the patient's condition as needed.
  • Performs complex wound care if in-service is documented for specific procedure daily or as needed.
  • Ability to function in any home situation regardless of age, race, creed, color, sex, disability, or financial condition of the client.

As the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in Hospice is responsible for providing quality patient care and performing technical skilled care at the hopsice inpatient unit.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Performs skilled nursing services under the supervision of a staff RN daily
  • Administers prescribed medications and treatments as permitted by state regulations
  • Assists the physician and/or staff RN in performing specialized procedures as needed
  • Assists the patient with daily activities and encourages appropriate self-care daily
  • Reports to the patient's physician and other appropriate personnel regarding pertinent changes in the patient's condition as needed
  • Performs complex wound care if in-service is documented for specific procedure daily or as needed

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The hourly pay for this role will range from $25.20 to $37.80 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
