Job summary

Good Samaritan in Lakota, ND, is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide professional nursing care for residents in long-term care under supervision of a registered nurse, advanced practice provider or physician.

The role supports health, comfort, and safety, with assessment contributions, medication administration, and collaboration within an interdisciplinary team. Night shifts available on a part-time schedule, 24 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited practical nursing program as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
• Associate degree in practical nursing is preferred.
• If position requires IV therapy/management skills, the following is required in North Dakota: graduation from a Board approved AASPN program where IV therapy is part of the curriculum or completion of an IV Therapy course approved by the North Dakota Board of Nursing.
• Must have attended a pre-licensure nursing program that included supervised clinical experience across the life span as part of the curriculum or have had a minimum of 400 hours of experience as LPN at another facility.
• Currently holds an unencumbered Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license with State Nursing board and/or possess multi-state licensure privileges.
• Obtains and subsequently maintains required department specific competencies and certifications.
• Completes required annual continuing education units (CEU) and competency training requirements of the department and facility.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care for residents under supervision of RN, APN, or physician.
• Ensure health, comfort, and safety of residents.
• Contribute to assessment of residents and administer medications or treatments as ordered.
• Document resident interactions and outcomes related to care, medication, behavior, and dietary.
• Work effectively with residents, families, and health care teams to support care plans.
