Job summary

Freeman Health System's Cardiac Medical Unit is hiring a Licensed Practical Nurse for full-time night shifts. You’ll work under the supervision of an RN to monitor and respond to the needs of stroke and dialysis patients within a 35-bed unit.

Requirements include Missouri LPN license (or compact), ACLS/BLS, NIH Stroke Scale, and CPI within specified timelines. Sign-on bonus of $4,000 is offered for eligible hires.

Qualifications

• Current Missouri Practical Nurse License or compact state license.
• Possession of required certifications (ACLS, BLS-Healthcare Providers, NIH Stroke Scale).
• Successful completion of Patient Care Orientation (PCO) within 30 days if needed.
• Ability to participate in stroke and renal patient care on CMU unit; ongoing CEUs.

Responsibilities

• Assist in assessment and plan of care under guidance of RN.
• Document treatments and patient responses in the medical record.
• Collaborate with care team to ensure safe, effective nursing care.
• Provide compassionate patient and family communication.
• Demonstrate professional behavior and good customer service.
