Job summary

Penn Medicine in Philadelphia is seeking a Full-Time Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the Neuro department. You will assist physicians and provide nursing care in hospital and outpatient settings, under RN and physician supervision.

Responsibilities include administering medications, performing injections and vaccines, EKGs, collecting specimens, charting, preparing paperwork, and maintaining sterile technique.

Qualifications

• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is required.
• BLS/CPR for healthcare providers is required.
• 1+ years outpatient experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Performs electrocardiograms (EKG) and screening tests.
• Obtains and tests specimens and documents results; directs abnormal results appropriately.

Full-Time LPN Location: 330 S 9th street Department: Neuro Schedule: M-F 8:30am-5pm Summary: The CPUP Licensed Practical Nurse assists physicians and performs healthcare services to patients in hospitals, clinics, and other healthcare facilities. Monitors and charts patients, collects sample, and performs other tasks as assigned, all under the direction of registered nurses and doctors. Responsibilities:

• Administers prescribed medications, gives injections and vaccines, reads PPD results.
• Performs electrocardiograms (EKG) and screening tests.
• Obtains and tests specimens following standard operating procedures and documents results, taking appropriate action with unexpected results. Prepares specimens for transport as necessary.
• Gather information from patient and direct to the RN or Provider when necessary.
• Assists provider with surgical procedures including positioning patients, keeping a sterile field, and wound cleaning and dressing.
• Prepares paperwork to complete patient visit.
• Obtains and documents patient's vital signs as needed and reports abnormal results to provider.
• Cleans, disinfects, sterilizes and checks to make sure all instruments and equipment are in proper working order.
• Maintains medication storage closets.
• Participates in orienting new team members.
• Performs duties in accordance with Penn Medicine and entity values, policies, and procedures
• Other duties as assigned to support the unit, department, entity, and health system organization

Credentials:

• Licensed Practical Nurse LPN (Required)
• BLS/CPR, as a healthcare provider as per the American (Required)

Education or Equivalent Experience:

• Licensed Practical Nurse & 1 + years Outpatient experience (Required)
• H.S. Diploma/GED (Required)
