Job summary

Community Medical Services (CMS) is urgently hiring a Nurse to administer medications to patients recovering from opioid and other substance use disorders. In the dosing nurse role, you’ll work under the Clinic Manager to conduct testing, maintain inventory, audit records, and assist providers in delivering safe, recovery-focused care.

You must be a licensed RN or LPN in the state, hold CPR certification, and be willing to travel to CMS sites.

Qualifications

• Licensed LPN or RN in state of employment.
• CPR certification required.
• Ability to travel to CMS sites.
• Valid Driver License and MV clearance.
• Experience in substance use disorders preferred, but not required.
• Knowledge of signs of intoxication and opioid withdrawal symptoms.
• Demonstrates accuracy in medication administration and maintains client records.
• Must have reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications as ordered by CMS medical providers.
• Monitor behavioral and medical symptoms related to dosage and drug use/mental health.
• Obtain vital signs, blood and urine samples.
• Process point-of-care urine drug screens per policy.
• Prepare take-home medication as applicable.
• Monitor for diversion and report it to internal authorities.
• Maintain accurate client records in the EHR system.
• Document medication errors and adverse reactions per policy.
• Arrange temporary dosing for clients and deliver medications to external facilities.
• Order nursing supplies and maintain medication inventory.
• Adhere to all regulations and standards.
• Administer CPR if necessary.
