Job summary

Carolina SeniorCare-New Bern is seeking a Medication Nurse (LPN) to oversee pharmacy-related needs for participants and to support clinic operations. The role includes data entry of medication orders, coordinating refills with pharmacies, and ensuring accurate documentation.

The nurse administers medications per policy, excluding injections or IVs, and participates in on-call rotations. Must have NC LPN license, CPR and First Aid, and be able to meet immunization requirements.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current unencumbered North Carolina LPN licensure.
• CPR certification required.
• First Aid certification required.
• Medical clearance for communicable diseases and up-to-date immunizations required before direct participant contact.
• Valid driver’s license, proof of insurance and means of transportation.

Responsibilities

• Receive and process medication orders daily with pharmacy vendor coordination.
• Administer medication as directed per policy (excluding injections, g-tube/j-tube, or IV meds).
• Coordinate medication orders with approved back-up pharmacies and arrange delivery to participants.
• Maintain documentation and chain of custody for controlled medications.
• Conduct periodic reviews of medication storage and expiration dates.
• Assist with on-call nursing coverage and participant care scheduling.
• Assist RN Care Managers with reconciliation of med lists during transitions.
