Job summary

Spencer Hospital in Spencer, IA seeks qualified licensed practical nurses or certified medical assistants to support clinic operations and patient care. Qualifications

• Active IA LPN license or Certified Medical Assistant credential
• Minimum 1 year of experience
• Caring and professional communication at all times
• BLS (CPR) certification or willingness to obtain on hire

Responsibilities

• Manage patient flow in the clinic to ensure timely visits and provider flow
• Greet patients, take vital signs, collect health history and review medication lists
• Educate patients on policies, medications, disease management, home treatment, and diets
• Assist providers with exams and minor procedures
• Phlebotomy and basic lab specimen collection; perform basic lab tests
• Prepare and administer medications with provider authorization
• Schedule patient appointments and coordinate testing as ordered
• Answer calls and handle emergent visits promptly
• Change dressings, apply bandages, remove sutures
• Assist infusion center within LPN/MA scope
• Maintain supplies, equipment, sterilize instruments
• Ensure safety, regulatory compliance, and confidential documentation
• Provide direct/indirect physical, psychosocial, and spiritual care for patients
