Job summary

CoxHealth South in Springfield, Missouri is seeking a Medical Assistant to perform administrative and clinical duties under provider supervision in an ambulatory setting. Responsibilities include scheduling, medical records, vital signs, and phlebotomy under supervision.

Eligible candidates may hold MA training with externship or an accredited LPN diploma, with required BLS within 90 days of hire. Typical schedule is day shift, 40 hours per week, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM, at CoxHealth South.

Qualifications

• Graduated from an MA program including pharmacology, anatomy/physiology, basics of medication administration and externship.
• Or graduated with an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse Diploma.
• Certification from a recognized program (CMA/RMA/NCMA/CCMA/NRCMA) or LPN.
• BLS certification within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform administrative duties under provider direction: scheduling and medical records.
• Take and record vital signs and medical histories; prepare patients for examination; draw blood.
• Work independently and with the care team to support ambulatory clinic operations.
