Job summary

AllerVie Health in Homewood/Hoover, AL is seeking a dedicated Shot Room Medical Assistant or LPN to manage our shot room in an allergy and immunology clinic. You will administer injections, support immunotherapy, and ensure patient safety and comfort under provider supervision.

You will take vitals, assist with allergy testing, monitor for reactions, document in the EMR, and educate patients on treatment plans and safety. This is a full-time, on-site role with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• Active LPN license or MA certification in Alabama.
• Current BLS certification.
• 1–2 years of outpatient clinical experience.
• Injection/immunotherapy/biologics experience a plus.
• Comfortable with EMR documentation.

Responsibilities

• Run the shot room: administer injections and immunotherapy under provider supervision.
• Take vitals and assist with allergy testing and spirometry.
• Monitor patients for reactions post-injection and provide follow-up care.
• Document accurately in the EMR.

Shot Room Medical Assistant or LPN

LPN or Medical Assistant Full-Time Homewood or Hoover, AL clinic

Join our allergy & immunology clinic as the dedicated nurse running our shot room — giving injections, supporting immunotherapy, and keeping patients safe and cared for.

What You'll Do

• Run the shot room: administer allergy injections, immunotherapy, and biologic medications under provider supervision
• Take vitals and assist with allergy testing (skin testing, spirometry, Niox)
• Monitor patients for reactions post-injection and provide follow-up care
• Document accurately in the EMR
• Educate patients on treatment plans and safety
• Keep the shot room stocked, clean, and compliant (including cold chain management)

What You Bring

• Active LPN license or MA certification in Alabama
• Current BLS certification
• 1–2 years of clinical experience (outpatient/specialty preferred)
• Injection/immunotherapy/biologics experience a plus
• Comfortable with EMR documentation
• Strong communication and multitasking skills
