Job summary

AllerVie Health in Homewood, AL is seeking an LPN / Medical Assistant to run the allergy shot room, administer injections, and support immunotherapy under provider supervision.

The role includes taking vitals, assisting with allergy testing, EMR documentation, patient education, and maintaining room safety and cold chain. Alabama LPN or MA cert, BLS, 1–2 years outpatient experience, and strong communication are preferred.

Qualifications

• Active LPN license or MA certification in Alabama.
• Current BLS certification.
• 1–2 years of clinical experience (outpatient/specialty preferred).
• Injection/immunotherapy/biologics experience a plus.
• Comfortable with EMR documentation.
• Strong communication and multitasking skills.

Responsibilities

• Run the shot room: administer allergy injections, immunotherapy, and biologic medications under provider supervision.
• Take vitals and assist with allergy testing (skin testing, spirometry, Niox).
• Monitor patients for reactions post-injection and provide follow-up care.
• Document accurately in the EMR.
• Educate patients on treatment plans and safety.
• Keep the shot room stocked, clean, and compliant (including cold chain management).
