Job summary

Atrium Health Cleveland is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to join our 32-bed medical-surgical unit. You will provide direct patient care under supervision, assist with assessments, and support plan-of-care implementation.

With emphasis on documentation, patient teaching, and communication with the team, this on-site role requires BLS and an active LPN license. No prior experience is required; we welcome new graduates ready to grow in a compassionate hospital setting.

Qualifications

• BLS certification within 6 months (if required by department)
• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license issued by the state where practice occurs
• Completion of an accredited Practical Nursing program

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care according to established policies, procedures and standards of care.
• Assists with assessment by collecting and documenting data, actions and responses including biological, psychological, social and cultural factors.
• Assists with developing the plan of care and implements as directed by the registered nurse.
• Supports and reinforces patient teaching according to individualized plan of care.
• Documents performance of nursing interventions and patient's response to those interventions; communicates changes to the RN.
• Communicates changes in medical orders to the registered nurse.
• Performs clinical tasks such as medication administration, IV therapy, wound care, venipuncture, etc.
• Demonstrates knowledge to provide care appropriate to age of patients; follows age-specific guidelines.
