Job summary

Atrium Health is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to support patient care across outpatient exams and procedures. You will prepare rooms, obtain vitals, collect specimens, assist with procedures, and administer medications under physician orders.

You’ll also educate patients and coordinate referrals, while maintaining accurate documentation and a safe clinical environment. Ideal candidates hold an accredited Practical Nursing program, an active LPN license, and BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Excellent written and verbal communication with patients and team.
• Strong organization, prioritization and problem solving.
• Proficient computer skills including EMR systems and email.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and room patients for exams; obtain vitals and document health information.
• Perform laboratory procedures using aseptic technique and safety guidelines.
• Assist physicians with procedures and surgeries as needed.
• Administer medications under orders; manage IV therapy within scope.
• Provide patient education and coordinate referrals and follow ups.
• Maintain clean, stocked exam rooms and equipment; transport duties as needed.
• Document accurately and relay information to the care team.
• Participate in quality improvement and patient-centered initiatives.
