Job summary

Spectrum Healthcare Resources is seeking a licensed practical nurse/licensed vocational nurse (LPN/LVN) for outpatient care at Clark County Jail in Springfield, OH. This role offers full-time or part-time day opportunities in a correctional health setting.

You will provide primary, addiction, urgent and behavioral health care with autonomy and clear nursing guidelines, supporting a vulnerable population in a safe, secure environment.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a practical or vocational nursing program approved by a state agency or ACEN.
• Minimum 12 months of primary care experience within the last 24 months.
• Active, unrestricted OH LPN license.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Provide primary, addiction, urgent and behavioral health care.
• Care is evidence based; address needs, not wants.
• Address a vast array of medical pathology in outpatient settings.
• Maintain a high degree of nursing autonomy with established guidelines.

Job Duties

• Provide a range of medical care to include primary, addiction, urgent and behavioral health care
• Free from coding, billing, insurance, satisfaction surveys, ICD-10 and DRGS
• Care is evidence based. We address needs, not wants
• Vast array of medical pathology that is not seen in any other healthcare location
• Work is socially meaningful as patients are socially marginalized and lack ordinary access to medical care due to lack of insurance, mental illness or homelessness (for anyone interested in addiction medicine or mental health)
• Large degree of medical autonomy and free of micromanaging. Extensive nursing guidelines in place.
• Safer than most other healthcare settings as weapons are forbidden, controversial inmates dealt with by correctional staff (safety and security takes precedence), inmates are punished for acting out, visits can be stopped at any time and restarted at a later date/time

Position Requirements

• Graduate of a school of practical or vocational nursing approved by a state agency or accredited by the ACEN
• A minimum of 12 months of experience in a primary care setting within the last 24 months
• Active, unrestricted OH LPN license
• BLS from the American Heart Association
