Job summary

Spectrum Healthcare Resources is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for a correctional health role at Logan County Jail in Bellefontaine, Ohio. The shift is 7am–7pm, with 12-hour rotations and every-other-weekend coverage.

The ideal candidate will have 12+ months of primary care experience, an active OH LPN license, and BLS certification. You will provide a range of medical services in a challenging, autonomous environment.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a school of practical or vocational nursing approved by a state agency or ACEN.
• Minimum of 12 months of experience in a primary care setting within the last 24 months.
• Active, unrestricted OH LPN license.
• BLS from the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Provide a range of medical care to include primary, addiction, urgent and behavioral health care.
• Care is evidence based. We address needs, not wants.
• Large degree of medical autonomy with nursing guidelines in place.
• Work is socially meaningful for marginalized patients with limited access to care.

Team Health and Spectrum Healthcare Resources has an excellent opportunity for a Licensed Professional Nurse (LPN) at Logan County Jail in Bellefountaine, Ohio. The LPN will be providing Correctional Medical care for those housed at the Shelby County Jail.

Position Highlights

• Full Time
• 7am-7pm.... 12 hour shifts (includes every other weekend)
• Adult population

Job Duties

• Provide a range of medical care to include primary, addiction, urgent and behavioral health care
• Free from coding, billing, insurance, satisfaction surveys, ICD-10 and DRGS
• Care is evidence based. We address needs, not wants
• Vast array of medical pathology that is not seen in any one other healthcare location
• Work is socially meaningful as patients are a socially marginalized and lack ordinary access to medical care whether due to lack of insurance, mental illness or homelessness (**for anyone interested in addiction medicine or mental health)
• Large degree of medical autonomy and free of micromanaging. Extensive nursing guidelines in place.
• Safer than most other healthcare settings as –weapons are forbidden, controversial inmates dealt with by correctional staff (safety and security takes precedence), inmates are punished for acting out, visits can be stopped at any time and restarted at a later date/time

Position Requirements

• Graduate of a school of practical or vocational nursing approved by a state agency or accredited by the ACEN
• A minimum of 12 months of experience in a primary care setting within the last 24 months
• Active, unrestricted OH LPN license
• BLS from the American Heart Association
