Job summary

SHR (Spectrum Healthcare Resources) is looking for an LPN or LVN to provide correctional medical care for patients at Fairfield County Jail in Lancaster, Ohio. This full-time position includes 12-hour shifts with pay differentials for night work, requiring staff to work nights three days a week and every other weekend.

Responsibilities include delivering primary, addiction, and behavioral health care to inmates, adhering to established nursing guidelines, and ensuring a safe environment. Qualified applicants will have an active Ohio LPN license, relevant experience, and BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Minimum 12 months of experience in an inpatient or outpatient setting within the last 24 months.
• Possess a Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association.

Position Overview

LPN or LVN to provide correctional medical care for patients housed at Fairfield County Jail located in Lancaster, Ohio.

Full‑time day and night 12‑hour shifts with pay differential for night shifts. Staff from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. three days a week with every other weekend. Requires working every other weekend.

Position Requirements

• Graduate of a practical or vocational nursing program approved by a state agency or accredited by ACEN.
• Minimum 12 months of experience in an inpatient or outpatient setting within the last 24 months.
• Active, unrestricted OH LPN license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.

Job Duties

• Provide primary, addiction, urgent, and behavioral health care to inmates.
• Deliver evidence‑based care and address patients’ needs.
• Work independently with established nursing guidelines and minimal micromanagement.
• Maintain safety and security in a correctional environment; weapons are prohibited and incidents are handled by correctional staff.
