Description:This position is for a Licensed Practical Nurse specializing in Med Surg.The role is a contract position for 13 weeks on the night shift from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM.Candidates will not be required to take call.This unit has 30 beds with a staffing ratio of 1:6.On the night shift, staffing includes 1 CNC/Charge Nurse, 5 RN, and 2 CNA, with sitters as needed.The unit is equipped with feeding pumps, IV pumps, lift equipment, wound VAC, PCA, and oxygen.Electronic medical records are managed through Meditech.Candidates must possess BCLS certification and demonstrate critical thinking skills.Preferred skills include ACLS, IV skills, ortho and kidney transplant care, and central line and Foley management experience.Experience in caring for patients with cardiac, renal transplant, dialysis, pulmonary, gastrointestinal, and diabetes conditions is also beneficial.Typical procedures on the unit include breathing treatments performed by respiratory therapists and chronic wound care.The best personality fit for this unit is someone who can adapt to a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment, providing culturally competent and diverse care.Teamwork is highly valued in this role.The dress code includes royal blue scrubs for RNs and green scrubs for PCTs.The unit has received recognition, including the Daisy Bee Award and I-CARE Employee of the month/year.This is an opportunity to work with a friendly and supportive team, including several tenured licensed nurses with extensive experience.The unit is competitive, and any additional skills can help attract top talent.
