Job summary

Pride Health is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for a 13-week travel contract in Rochester, NY. This role involves managing patient care in a Medical-Surgical/Telemetry setting, requiring previous Acute Care experience and comfort with night shifts.

Job description

Job Title: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – Medical Surgical Unit

Duration: 13-Week Travel Contract

Schedule: 4x12-Hour Nights | 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (every other weekend required)

Pay Range: $2100-2350/week

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage a full patient assignment with RN support in a Medical-Surgical/Telemetry setting
• Monitor and document vital signs, pain levels, intake/output, and patient status changes
• Administer medications including oral, IM, SQ, NG/G-tube medications, eye and ear drops
• Perform blood glucose monitoring and assist with diabetes management
• Administer oxygen therapy via nasal cannula and monitor patient response
• Manage feeding tubes and provide routine patient care and hygiene assistance
• Perform Foley catheter insertion and urine specimen collection
• Provide basic wound care, dressing changes, and monitor drains such as JP and Hemovac drains
• Assist with telemetry monitoring and 12-lead EKG procedures

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum 1 year of recent Acute Care experience within the last 2 years
• Previous Medical-Surgical and/or Telemetry experience required
• Comfortable working night shifts and every other weekend
